Our Doctors

Following graduation, our veterinarians have continued their training by enrolling in advanced post-graduate studies. These courses have been taken with the primary goal of expanding their abilities to provide the ultimate in care options for your pets.

Dr. Pam Goble, DVM, CCRT

Veterinarian

Dr. Pam Goble graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. She became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 1999, veterinary chiropractic in 2000, and most recently canine rehabilitation in 2015.  In addition to this, she has extensive training in a variety of other manual therapies including craniosacral therapy, myofascial release, and visceral manipulation.  She has two children - a daughter Lian, and a son, Quinn. The family has two pomeranians (Yoshi and Zoe) and two cats (Luna, and Indiana – a.k.a. Dr. Jones). Dr. Goble feels blessed that she has the best of all worlds: a profession that she enjoys immensely and a family that she loves completely.  Dr. Goble enjoys singing and playing the guitar, and does both as Worship Leader for Harvest Community Church.

Dr. Carol Kujala, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Carol Kujala has officially retired as of May 31, 2017! She graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.Sc. in Zoology in 1969. She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. She spent time in Toronto, Calgary, and Regina, before returning to Edmonton in 1989. Carol and her husband, Don, have two children, both married, and are blessed with four wee granddaughters. Over the past 35 years, their house has been home to an assortment of 20-some cats (a few at a time..!), dogs, a snake, an iguana, a cockatiel, a parrot, a few hamsters, and a trio of turtles. Carol’s interests vary, and include general medicine and surgery, dentistry, birds, and the world of alternative medicine: homeopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, and osteopathy. When not working, Carol enjoys travel (often to see her children), golf, kayaking, gardening, painting, and restful meditation.

Dr. Niran Sabanathan, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Niran Sabanathan was born in Sri Lanka. The family moved to Zambia, then Toronto and finally to Calgary. Dr. Sabanathan completed a B.Sc. in Zoology in Calgary, then graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. After working for four years in Goose Bay, Labrador, he and his wife, Radha, moved to Edmonton. They have one son, Keshavaran. When he is not working, Dr. Sabanathan loves reading, writing, photography, and hiking.

Dr. Sheri Lund, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Sheri Lund graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. After working a year in mixed practice in the Peace River region, she moved to Edmonton. Sheri has two beautiful children named Ronan and Keely, and three furry four-legged pets that help keep them entertained. Sheri’s main interests are in complementary medicine (herbs, acupuncture, osteopathy, and energetic medicine), but she loves being a veterinarian in general! Her spare time is devoted to family (chasing after her son and daughter). Dr. Lund loves being outside surrounded by nature, kayaking, walking, and delving deeper into the world of mind-body medicine.

Dr. Julie King, DVM

Dr. Julie King graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. She worked in a mixed animal practice for one year, and has worked at several small animal and emergency hospitals in Calgary and Edmonton. She also worked as a locum (relief) veterinarian for a number of years. Her interests include emergency, geriatric, and alternative medicine, and rabbits and “pocket pets”. Dr. King has one daughter, three cats, and two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, blues music, and spending time with her family, pets and friends.

Our Registered Animal Health Technologists

Our Registered Animal Health Technologists are graduates from an accredited two year post-secondary program that teaches many aspects of animal care. These include nursing care, pharmacology, radiology, laboratory, nutrition, and anesthesiology. Our Animal Health Technologists are extremely knowledgeable, and are able to answer many of the questions you might have about your pet.

RVT, CMT, CCRA, Practice Manager

Kari graduated from NAIT in 1993, and has worked at Town Centre Veterinary Hospital (TCVH) ever since! Performing the duties of a Registered Animal Health Technologist (RAHT), massage therapist, and Practice Manager, Kari enjoys the variety each position brings. In 2015, she also became certified in canine rehabilitation. Kari has worked part-time for several years, spending her days off with her husband, Sean, her two children, Kayla and Tyler, and dog Nellie. When not at work, Kari enjoys soccer, visiting with friends, and spending time at her cabin.

Megan has always had a great love for animals, knowing that one day she wanted to work with them. Megan started at Town Centre as a volunteer in 2009. She continued to work at Town Centre while attending the AHT program at NAIT, graduating in 2013. In her spare time, she enjoys fitness, playing basketball, and spending time with her friends and family (fur family included).

RVT

Becky started at TCVH in 2000 as kennel staff, and was happy to return as an RVT after graduating from the Olds College in 2007. She has also worked with chickens, pigs, and spent a short time in a medical research lab. Becky's time outside work is spent with her little boy, Jakob. She also enjoys reading, swimming, going to the gym, and spending time with her friends. Becky loves cats and has four of them - Jeremiah, Hermione, Lexie and Hektor.

Lisa graduated from the AHT program at NAIT in 2006. She began working at TCVH as a volunteer while applying to NAIT, and has continued working here ever since! Lisa has two cats, Tigger and Stella, who keep her entertained. In her spare time, she likes reading, playing sports, and is currently learning how to sew.

Karen started working at Town Centre Veterinary Hospital as an AHT student in 2002, and continued after graduating from NAIT in 2003. Karen is married to Clint, and they have two daughters, Mya and Hana, and a dog, Jill. She grew up with pets all her life, and was always sneaking a stray animal into the family. When Karen is not working, she enjoys skiing, playing games with friends, spending time with family, and watching scary movies.

Ana graduated from the AHT program at NAIT in 1993. She spent her first year working at the research facility at the University of Alberta. Not finding it very fulfilling, she moved to a small animal clinic and has been working as an AHT ever since. She feels very blessed to be working at a job that can hold surprises every day. She lives with two very precocious cats named Shrek and Eugene, whom she hand-raised. She divides her spare time between three children, nine grandchildren, church activities and her new passion, hand drumming, and if there’s any time left reading, sewing, crocheting and crafts.

Our Client Care staff members are happy to assist you with any requests you have regarding your pet. Whether on the phone, or in person, they do their best to ensure that your needs, and your pet’s needs, are addressed as quickly as possible.

Client Care

Myrna has been the receptionist at TCVH since 2002, and is likely the one to greet and help you and your pet when you arrive at our hospital. She enjoys watching the animals grow from a few weeks old, to healthy adulthood. Myrna has been married for 35 years to her husband, Rick, and has two sons, James (Shannon) and Tyler (Nicole). Her hobbies include spending time with her family.

Laura attended the Veterinary Medical Assistant program at NAIT, and has been working at Town Centre since her graduation in 2013. She plans to attend the AHT program at NAIT after upgrading and gaining valuable experience in the field. She has two toothless cats, Samuel and Skye, and enjoys many outdoor activities such as target shooting, off-roading, and hiking in the park with her fiancé Joe, and their dog, Spudz.

Adrienne graduated from the Veterinary Office Reception program at Trend College in 2003 and has worked part-time at Town Centre Veterinary Hospital ever since. When not at work, Adrienne is at home with her husband, Peter, chasing after her son, Sebastian, daughter, Adisen, and stepson, Brandon. Adrienne also has a cat Polly, and two dogs, Riggs and Stella. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing on the computer, reading, and camping.
